LPG - Endermologie

Body sculpting is a category of non-invasive treatments, i.e. no cutting or penetration of the skin is involved. This is a branch of aesthetic treatments where Akademikliniken is leading the way through a range of clinical studies into the effects of fat cell reduction via ultrasound, fat burning and cellulite treatments with electrodes.

LPG is a mechanical, deep tissue massage through which we can achieve measurable results in the shape and look of the body. It treats the skin’s connective tissue and subcutaneous fat. The collagen and the elastin in the skin are stimulated, contracting the skin to produce a firmer, more supple surface. Our body sculpting treatments all have medically proven effects.

The treatment also influences fat cells to enter lipolysis, which means they release stored-up energy. In this way, fat cells diminish in size. This improves circulation and has a long-lasting effect.

Since LPG has a contracting effect, making the skin suppler and firmer, it can be used to treat cellulite. Normally 14-20 treatments are required to achieve full effect. We recommend one to two treatments weekly until a satisfying result has been achieved, and afterwards one treatment per month to maintain it.

LPG is also used both before and after liposuction and abdominoplasty to drain off fluid and reduce swelling and pain. Any unevenness which has occurred as a result of liposuction also disappears quicker. Blood circulation increases, opening up blood and lymph vessels in the skin and subcutaneous fat, so that waste products disappear more quickly. For best results, 2-4 treatments should be had twice weekly a few weeks prior to surgery. After surgery, treatments can be had twice a week depending on individual recommendation.
