Fellowship Programme
- Plastic surgery

For many years, resident plastic surgeons have come to Akademikliniken for shorter or longer periods, to take part of the clinic’s vast knowledge and experience in plastic surgery.

Due to the excellent feedback we have received from former residents as well as the great interest shown from around the world, we have now decided to introduce a formal Fellowship Programme.

The Akademikliniken Fellowship Programme offers you a possibility to learn from and share experiences with highly experienced specialists, both in aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery.

You will assist in different types of operations on a daily basis, take part in consultations and also assist in or perform non-surgical treatments. Research projects and studies are common at Akademikliniken and as a resident you will take an active part in these studies.

About Akademikliniken

Akademikliniken is one of Europe’s leading private institutions for aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery, with clinics in Stockholm and Malmö and consultation offices in Copenhagen and London. The company was founded in 1991 and performs yearly more than 27 000 aesthetic procedures. A wide range of surgical procedures are offered by nine specialists in plastic surgery, and Akademikliniken is the only private clinic in Scandinavia performing advanced micro surgical procedures such as facial paralysis for example.
In 2010, Akademikliniken performed 4 500 operations in general anaesthesia in seven theatres and around 2 000 in local anaesthesia. The operation spectrum ranges from skin tumours to free flaps with facial nerve transplants and DIEPs. There is a clear emphasis on aesthetic surgery, however 10 per cent of the operations is reconstructive surgery.

Akademikliniken insists on a holistic view of beauty and also offers a wide range of non-surgical procedures such as injections with fillers and botulinum toxin as well as medical skincare. Aesthetic dentistry is also part of the clinic as well as the company’s own line of advanced skincare products.
